Art Slope festival picks ‘Sluggish Life’

The 2019 edition of the Art Slope’s 19 - Shorts in the Slope Film Festival in the US has picked Iran’s ‘Sluggish Life’ as Best Narrative Short.

Directed by Mohsen Mehri-Deravi, the short experimental film is about the peculiar life of a sophisticated man.

It has attended some global film events, including the 2018 Tirana International Film Festival in Albania, the 2018 Izmir Short Film Festival in Turkey, the 2018 Tehran International Short Film Festival in Iran, the 2019 Watersprite International Student Film Festival in the UK, the 6th Chennai International Short Film Festival in India, and the 9th Queens World Film Festival in the US.

Best documentary award of the 2019 Slope Film Festival went to ‘Philip Carlson - On Behalf of Talent’ by Christopher Ming Ryan from the US and ‘Jesse Ray Scheps Sketch Comedy’ by Jesse Ray Scheps as well as ‘Clark’ by Steven Ruggiero both from the US won two awards for best youth short films.

The 2019 edition of the Art Slope was held in New York on April 6-7.
